Brown Bag Mystery 2026

I'm not sure where I found out about the brown bag mystery, but once I found out I had to participate. The way it works is you order fabric for a quilt but you only know what one of the fabrics looks like - the rest are a mystery. So I ordered a kit, and when it arrived I was really disappointed. I don't really care for the fabrics at all. So, because of that disappointment, I decided to order another kit. This time, it was still a mystery, but I knew what the fabric line was so I was pretty sure I would like the fabrics. When that one arrived, I was thrilled and very happy. Then, I was reading stuff on facebook, and for some reason I just decided to order a third kit. This time I knew exactly what the fabrics would be because someone posted a photo of the same kit. So anyway, I have three fabric kits. #1 is batiks, #2 is Forest Glen fabrics by Andoer, and #3 is a national parks kit called Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm very tempted to buy a 4th kit, but I will control myself. Here are my 3 kits.

Blockheads 6 - Block 12

I skipped block 11 for now because it is 27" square and I'm not sure I need such a big block. I may go back and do it later. In the meantime, here is block 12. This one went together pretty easily. Oops..after I posted this, I realized my goslings are upside down. I will fix it and repost. I kind of want to make the center better anyway.

Block 6 was supposed to be 18 inches, but I made it 9 inches like the others.

Block 7 is 18 inches, so I have skipped it for now. I may make it smaller or maybe I'll make it big as designed. Block 8:

Dragon Fruit Quilt

This was a BOM by the Fat Quarter Shop. I finally found the time to put all the blocks together. It came out great. I still have to add the borders, and then I have to decide if I'm going to try to quilt it myself or if I will save up money and send it out to a longarmer. I had a lot of fabric left over, so I'm also making another version of this in half size. It's fun making the tiny blocks. The smallest blocks are 2" squares.

Well...after putting up this picture, I noticed a mistake, so I had to spend time with Jack (the ripper). All fixed now.

Westknits Surprise Sockalong 2025 - Delectable Collectibles

This will be my third year doing Westknits surprise sockalong. Stephen's sock designs are always unique and so much fun to knit. This year I decided to treat myself to a kit. It's expensive...especially the shipping, but I think I deserve it. I got the kit called Carrot by Dark Omen. There were also a few goodies along with the yarn.
